Summer Solstice Celebration
Each year between May and July the Summer Solstice Celebration, a 501 c 3 non profit organization hosts an open community arts workshop for where individuals, kids and families, young and old and from all backgrounds can learn to build floats and ensembles for the Summer Solstice parade. More than 1000 individuals participate in the workshop each season and Santa Barbara’s largest parade. Now a 45 -year tradition in Santa Barbara, the Parade on State Street and 3-day Festival in Alameda Park attracts over 100,000 parade and festival-goers. The Solstice Celebration is known for being one of the largest events on the west coast and represents participants of over 200 community organizations in Santa Barbara and throughout the South Coast.

Bread & Roses
Bread & Roses is the Fund for Santa Barbara’s largest annual fundraiser and community celebration. It is a time for community activists, donors, volunteers, elected leaders, and supporters of progressive social change to gather, celebrate our work together and raise money for the Fund’s grant-making and technical assistance programs. With nearly 800 attendees, it is also one of the largest events of its kind on the Central Coast. This year’s event will once again feature a gourmet buffet-style dinner from our region’s finest restaurants, wines from local vintners and both a live and silent auction. Nearly all items and services are donated, allowing us to make the event accessible for all and still ensure that 85 cents of every dollar donated goes to the work of the Fund.
